What Plane fees should I expect?

Updated over a month ago

The first thing you’ll need to agree on is a salary in local currency (all salaries must be denominated in local currency). Bear in mind this might be a different amount than what they're getting paid as a global contractor. Some people might expect more (because their taxes might be higher), and some less (because they have more job security).

Once you know the gross salary, you’ll need to add a % on top of the salary in employer-side taxes and insurance. Plane will make these withholdings on your behalf, so you don’t need to set anything up yourself.

There are no set-up fees, but we take a security deposit equal to 1-month of payroll expenses and fees. You can find more information about the security deposit in this article. We don’t charge any annual fees, expense processing fees, or any other surprise fees.

Altogether, the process is pretty simple:

  • Log in to your account and under the People menu, go to the Team tab

  • Click on the 'Add an Employee' button

  • Fill in the onboarding form

  • Remove the contractor from the current payroll and archive the contractor profile

We'll be able to take it from here. In case you're wondering how long it will take to onboard the new international employee, please refer to the following article.
