If your organization invited you to join Plane as an international employee through Employer of Record (EOR), this guide explains how to complete your onboarding and what to expect along the way. In this setup, Plane or a Plane partner manages the employment relationship, payroll, taxes, and compliance on behalf of your employer.
Before you start 📝
Your organization will begin your onboarding and send you an email invitation to join Plane. As soon as you accept it, you can start completing your onboarding tasks in Plane, even while your employment contract is being prepared. Completing your information early can help avoid delays.
Step 1️⃣: Accept your invitation and create your account
Open the invitation email, click the link, and create your Plane account. Once you’re signed in, you’ll see a dedicated onboarding page with only the tasks you’re responsible for.
Step 2️⃣: Complete your onboarding tasks
Provide personal details
Enter your legal name, date of birth, and nationality.
Enter administrative details
Provide the residency information and tax identifiers required for your country. These requirements can vary depending on where you live and work. For example, some countries may ask about visa status or freedom of movement.
Add your address
Enter your residential address.
Set up your bank account
Add the bank account where you want your salary paid.
Provide an emergency contact
Add the details of a designated emergency contact.
Step 3️⃣: Review your employment contract
As part of onboarding, you’ll receive your employment agreement for review. If you have questions, you can flag them for review before signing.
Step 4️⃣: Sign your employment contract
Once everything looks correct, you’ll receive an email with a link to sign the agreement electronically outside of Plane. After your signature is confirmed, the agreement is finalized. This is usually one of the final steps in the onboarding process.
FAQs
What happens after I complete my onboarding?
Once all required tasks are complete, your onboarding is considered finished. At that point, your profile, payment details, tax and compliance information, and signed employment contract will all be on file, and payroll will begin according to your start date and pay schedule.
Can my organization complete some steps for me?
Your organization may be able to complete some parts of onboarding on your behalf. However, any steps that require your personal signature or attestation must be completed by you directly.
Will I be able to track my progress?
Yes. You’ll see a simplified onboarding page that shows only your own tasks. Tasks assigned to your employer, Plane, or other parties are not visible to you.
