How the Situation in Ukraine and Russia Affects Payments

Learn how current sanctions and regulations may affect payments in certain regions.

Updated over a week ago

Due to international sanctions and banking restrictions related to the conflict involving Russia and Ukraine, some payments are restricted or no longer supported. Plane continues to comply with all applicable sanctions and financial regulations.

Payments to Russia

Plane does not support payments to Russia.

Due to international sanctions and banking restrictions, payments to contractors or businesses located in Russia cannot be processed through Plane.

Payments to Belarus

Plane currently supports payments to Belarus, but these payments may be subject to additional compliance checks and sanctions screening.

In some cases, payments may be delayed, reviewed, or declined depending on regulatory requirements or banking partner policies.

Payments to Ukraine

Payments to most regions of Ukraine are supported.

However, due to international sanctions, payments involving the following regions are not permitted:

  • Crimea

  • Luhansk

  • Donetsk

Payments to other regions of Ukraine may still be subject to compliance review.

If a payment cannot be processed

If a contractor is unable to receive a payment due to sanctions or banking restrictions, our Operations team will contact the contractor directly.

We will work with the contractor and their company to explore alternative payment solutions that comply with applicable regulations and our banking partners’ policies.

Ongoing updates

We continue to monitor sanctions, regulatory changes, and banking partner policies that may affect payments in these regions.

This article will be updated if payment availability changes.
